Our egg-size ASR analyses show that the evolution of relative egg size (egg volume relative to adult body mass) displays a decreasing trend from the base of the Diapsida to that of the Saurischia, followed by an egg-size-increase trend from early theropods to the crown bird node (Fig. 6c and Supplementary Figs S18 and S19 ).
