The highly significant increase in daily feed intake in group F1 as compared to group F2 and F4 is likely to be due to the fact that in starved organisms the glucose content in all visceral organs is reduced, which creates a greater demand for glucose ( Kolataj and Wilczewska, 1981 ), leading to compensatory feed intake at the next feeding.
