In the subdivisions of external causes of V01–Y89, the age-adjusted rates from 1999–2021 showed the following: a decreasing trend for transport accidents and falls; flat trend for the other unforeseen accidents except for an increase in 2011; decreasing trend for assault, but with an increase in 2017 for males and in 2018 for females; decreasing trend for intentional self-harm from 1999–2015, but an increasing trend from 2016 to 2021 for males, and a slight increasing trend from 1999–2008, a decreasing trend from 2009 to 2016 and an increase again from 2017 to 2021 for females.
