Accuracy assessments for classification products showed high accuracy across all years (> 89% in all cases; Table 2 ). Notably, there was a highly significant increase in seagrass areal extent through time, whereby seagrass area increased threefold from 37 km 2 in 2000–2001 to 111 km 2 in 2020–2021 (Figs. 3 and 4 ; + 4.6 km 2 year −1 ; r 2 = 0.93; F = 125.9; DF = 1,8; p < 0.001).
