We found an overall trend that tyrosine plasma levels increased after the intake of the synbiotic supplement and that this relationship again depended on the baseline homeostatic balance of the gut microbiome (i.e. the F/B ratio; β Group = 0.09, SE = 0.20, P = 0.642; β F/B ratio = 0.60, SE = 0.34, P = 0.086; and β GroupxF/B ratio = −0.81, SE = 0.36, P = 0.026; see Table S6 ).
