Across frontal and parietal lobe white matter substructures, MTR, qT1 relaxation rate and FA did not change significantly between timepoints, regardless of group ( p -values >0.05, Figure 4A –F), but MD changed between timepoints depending on intervention group (time by intervention interaction, p = 0.045): MD did not change significantly over time in NAWM, nor in lesions in the sham (90°) group ( p -values >0.05), whereas lesion MD decreased in the rTMS (0°) group but failed to reach significance after FDR correction ( p = 0.006 > q = 0.003, 16 comparisons; Figure 4G and H ).
