This significant difference persisted when treatment intent was included in the multivariate analysis (HR 0.81, 95% CI 0.7–0.94, p = 0.007), but not when tumor type and surgery were included, although the effect direction remained (HR 0.92); the p -value for tumor type was non-significant, while the p -value for surgery was highly significant.
