Analysis of the combined effect of rs699 and rs5051 on angiotensinogen expression and hypertension.

To further isolate the effect of rs699 A > G, we binned genotype groups into 1 versus 2–3 versus 4–6 versus 7–8 versus 9, and found that there was a nonsignificant trend towards an increase in blood pressure (Figure 7B,E ) which statistically demonstrates that rs699 A > G is unlikely to be exerting a blood pressure lowering effect.
