The experimental data clearly show that norepinephrine (at 10 −7 and 10 −6 M) induced a highly significant decrease in [U- 14 C]-palmitate oxidation to 14 CO 2 in both fed islets and islets starved for 48 h with 3 mM glucose, which was almost completely blocked by 10 −5 M yohimbine.
