The median menarcheal age of our study sample was 11.20 years, with more than two out of five girls reporting early menarche, thus demonstrating a decreasing trend in the age of menarche when compared to previous Greek studies [ 1 , 7 , 8 , 26 ] and a relatively recent 5-year study in Athens [ 27 ].
