4 Discussion 4.1 Spatial and temporal variations of uranium concentration along the pollution groups Consistent with findings in other watersheds affected by AMD ( Sun et al., 2015 ; Bonilla et al., 2018 ; Zhang et al., 2019 ), this study also discovered that most physicochemical parameters, such as acidity and the concentration of Fe and SO 4 2− , showed a decreasing trend along the pollution levels ( Table 1 ; Supplementary Table S1 ).
