Adding further complexity, the value of RCT results depends on their generalizability to real-world settings [ 9 ], and if external validity is low due to even lower fidelity when the rigorousness of the RCT setting is changed to a real-world setting, the gap between intervention effect in these domains may be significant [ 10 ].
