Moreover, in a study of thioacetamide (TAA)-induced liver injury in male C57BL/6 mice, mice treated with fucoidan showed improvements in body weight, food intake, and hepatic antioxidant enzymes, as well as a decreasing trend in serum indicators of liver injury such as ALT, AST, TNF- α , IL-1 β , and CRP.
