On completion of the study, the participants in the intervention group lost an average of −2.93 ± 2.58 kg (3.2% reduction in baseline weight), whereas those in control group lost an average of −2.74 ± 1.54 kg (3.1% reduction in baseline weight) ( p = 0.762) There was also a marginally significant decrease in AST (−13.28 ± 20.30 IU/L vs. −4.25 ± 12.98, p = 0.071).
