While the majority of meta-analyses, incorporating data from both non-randomized controlled trials (non-RCTs) and RCTs, indicated a favorable trend toward lower complication rates with minimally invasive surgery (MIS), it is noteworthy that a singular study did not detect a significant difference between MIS and open liver resection.
