In alignment with the GO analysis, the markedly significant pathways ( p < 0.001) encompassing bacterial ( Staphylococcus aureus ) infection (KEGG Pathway), innate immune response, neutrophil degranulation, immune system, post-translational protein phosphorylation, insulin-like growth factor transport and uptake (Reactome Pathway), and the complement system (WikiPathways) were predominantly associated with immune response (Fig. 3 b, Supplementary Table S5 ).
