Study results indicate that Bax and caspase-9 mRNA expressions from apoptotic structures increased by administering juglone to healthy rats together with 4-NQO and to rats with oral carcinoma induced by 4-NQO, while p53 levels increased significantly in the 4-NQO+J* group, and there is an increasing trend in the 4-NQO+J group.
