Statistics analyses on the phenotypic data of the parental lines and of the RILs confirmed the usefulness of the selected genetic material for the target traits: i) parental lines showed statistically significant differences for all traits, except for SD; ii) the genotype, environment, and GxE interactions had a highly significant effect on the phenotypic variation; iii) a high broad-sense heritability was calculated indicating that the observed phenotypic variation was mainly due to heritable genetic differences among the RILs.
