Conversely, elderly subjects reporting vehicular traffic exposure and being exposed to high noise levels [Lden ≥ 60 dB(A)] showed significantly higher odds of allergic rhinitis symptoms/diagnosis (OR 2.01, 95% CI 1.09–3.70, and OR 1.99, 95% CI 1.18–3.36, respectively), as well as, at a borderline significance level, higher odds of rhino-conjunctivitis symptoms/diagnosis (OR 2.20, 95% CI 0.95–5.10, and OR 1.76, 95% CI 0.91–3.42, respectively) than the elderly not exposed to traffic.
