Although the initial analysis showed an increasing trend in the risk of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and diabetic foot in the early-life famine exposure group, after adjusting for confounding factors such as the duration of diabetes and HbA1c levels, this study did not find a significant impact of early-life famine exposure on the risks of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and diabetic foot in adulthood.
