Further investigation into compounds 13 and 14 , which share the same 4,4′-dinonyl-2,2′-bipyridine N−N ligands as compounds 11 and 12 but differ by incorporating smaller 2-phenylpyridine C−N ligands instead of the 1-phenylisoquinoline ligands found in compound 11 , reveals an interesting trend.
