Prior research, although primarily non-UK based, has shown that medication costs may be significant barriers to medication adherence. 4 15 Congruent with these observations, 23.71% of participants reported not collecting a prescritpion and 16.80% of participants reported having deviated from their prescribed medication regime (eg, skipping doses or half-dosing) due to the associated per-prescribed item costs.
