A highly significant correlation was observed between the biuret absorbance (BA) of the samples at 545 nm in 1 cm quartz cuvettes and the crude protein content determined by the micro-Kjeldahl method, r = 0.987 with the regression equation, BA = 0.0567·CP + 0.0307, where CP is the percentage of crude protein in the dry matter.
