While cumulative heating effects may not be significant when studying simple metallic films, they become problematic when investigating more complex solid-state films that require a low base temperature. 32 Our work aims to demonstrate the technical performance of our high-repetition-rate UED instrument using simple thin metallic films, in preparation for its use for future gas-phase UED studies, which are well-suited for operation at high repetition rates.
