The total ionic strength of the enzyme reaction solution containing 50 mM NaCl (which includes 50 mM Hepes) is in the same range of physiological buffer which raises the possibility that the N-terminal autoinhibition of nucleosome deacetylation, and the influence of VRK1, may not be significant in normal cellular conditions.
