The distance to the forest area and park boundary is highly significant to the conflict cases ( χ 2 = 88.842, df = 2, p < 0.05), as 84% of cases were recorded nearer the national park, with the distance less than 1 km (Figure 6 ). 4 Causes for the Conflict Grass collection and cattle grazing were the major underlying factors leading to the conflict with wild animals (Figure 7 ), with 21 cases reported ( χ 2 = 113.74, df = 13, p < 0.05).
