Indeed, there is a highly significant (at least a 15-fold) increase in COL1A1 present in the 20% TCA-treated skin after 14 days compared with that of untreated controls, with correspondingly lower but statistically nonsignificant responses observed with the milder chemexfoliants that employed lower TCA content levels.
