In a recently published review of a NM bioaccumulation study, an overall trend was observed across a broad range of multicellular organisms: absorbance across epithelial surfaces was typically limited. 30 Therefore, the model establishing approaches for conventional chemicals, based on chemicals’ solubility and distribution in partition, have been shown not to be directly applied to nanomaterials. 31 − 33 A few conventional models have been selected for predicting bioaccumulation or verifying the experimental results in various cases of NMs, with a selection basis unstated.
