The most statistically significant positive correlations were observed between salinity (S) and dominance of halophilic archaea belonging to the phyla Halobacterota and Nanohaloarchaeota ( Figure 4 , Table 4 ), as indicated by high r values (0.899 and 0.663, respectively) and highly significant p values (0.001 and 0.002, respectively); the low false discovery rate (FDR) (0.013) suggested the high reliability of these results.
