Using HHpred searches as a more sensitive homology detection approach, only one additional protein encoded by ORFs in pLPM could be assigned to a previously defined gene family, namely the putative pLPM_orf12 product (with its 769 amino acid residues the longest pLPM-encoded protein), which in HHpred searches gave a highly significant hit (E-value < 1e−99) to a group of proteins typified by T3/T7 (T-odd) phage RNA polymerases.
