A simultaneous increase in BHLS (2.5 points) and subjective numeracy (1 point) scores was associated with a hazard ratio of 0.78 (95% CI: 0.68 – 0.90), and a simultaneous increase in education (2 years) and difficulty paying bills (1 category increase) was associated with a hazard ratio of 0.88 (95% CI: 0.75 − 1.03), which was marginally significant.
