While the statistical significance of our results diminished due to the reduction in sample size resulting from the procedure of comparing subjects with identical age profiles, our adjusted model for males did reveal a marginally significant association, demonstrating a consistent directional and magnitude trend in the ORs (1.560, p =0.082).
