Overall, there was a decreasing trend in volume with perfusion fixation; however, there were no statistically significant differences between in vivo and ex vivo volumes in the following 10 regions: the piriform cortex, entorhinal cortex, dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex, septal nucleus, gustatory cortex, secondary somatosensory cortex, superior temporal rostral area, posterior parietal area, caudate nucleus, and superior colliculus (Supplementary Fig. 1).
