Finally, 25(OH)D has been demonstrated to impair SREBP activation by inducing its proteolytic degradation.[ 25 ] Previous studies have also suggested that the correlation between vitamin D levels and cardiovascular disease may be significant only in patients with elevated CRP levels, with no association found in the absence of high CRP.[ 26 ] Our findings on CRP levels align with Bahrami et al .,[ 24 ] who reported no significant difference between the vitamin D group and the control group in CAD patients.
