SNP identified as highly significant for AGER in the Japanese population GWAS were the exonic SNP rs2070600, whereas we identified novel signals (independent significant SNPs) for AGER rs567657048; 6:32157364_G_A; and rs204993, suggesting that the GWAS signal detected could be the result of the combined effect of these SNPs.
