As these variants are highly significant eQTLs associated with the regulation of expression of multiple genes in pancreatic and brain tissues and immune cell populations, we conducted a formal expression colocalization test with the LocusFocus online web tool (see the Methods section for details), which revealed that the FAM222B discovery locus was a strong eQTL after Bonferroni correction for 15 gene/tissue combinations.
