In addition, moderate and borderline significant overall associations appeared for NAK∑, NHE1, MCT4, and ClC‐1 inducing a comparable pattern to that of total skating distance, suggesting that the muscle phenotype characteristics underpinning total and high‐intensity skating performance in ice hockey are comparable entities.
