The effectiveness of phacoemulsification in reducing the requirement of antiglaucoma drugs was highly significant in this study, with only 1 out of 38 cases (excluding 2 cases that required trabeculectomy) still requiring AGMs by the end of 6 months, while preoperatively the mean number of AGMs used by the patients was 2.
