While the short-term effects of PAL in asthmatic children on quality of life, aerobic fitness, and peripheral muscle strength may not be significant, PAL due to asthma in adulthood is associated with frequent hospital admissions, higher mortality rates, and even shorter life expectancy [ 7 – 9 ].
