The prehospital system in India leaves much to be desired with a patchwork quilt of services to include pay as you go ambulances, taxis transformed to quasi medical transport units and personal vehicles.[ 6 ] Many parts of the county have very poor road conditions and thus even with the finest ambulances there may be significant delays.
