In the result of the Japan Society for Head and Neck Cancer 2002 study, some kind of intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy was administered via the femoral artery or superficial temporal artery in 40.3% of 139 cases of maxillary cancer in 45 facilities nationwide, and the frequency of such intra-arterial infusion therapies is in an increasing trend.
