We added this extremely significant sample to the paper – extending the range of geographic coverage of early aDNA samples by ~2000 km into geographical Polynesia – after the first round of review, once we found out from the Jena team that they had independently processed it and after our two groups agreed that combining the samples could make for a more compelling final paper.
