In 2009, Gatto et al applied for the first time a semi-quantitative method to estimate pesticide exposure in well water, and among the 26 pesticides included in the study, the risk of developing PD was higher in people drinking well water contaminated with OP pesticides, and this risk showed an increasing trend with the increase in the number of pesticide types in well water.
