Indeed, although at the phylum level, a higher presence of Firmicutes and a lower presence of Bacteroidetes in active women with a trend toward significance was observed, at the genus level, there were significant differences in the following genera: Bifidobacterium ; Barnesiellaceae ; Odoribacter ; Paraprevotella ; Turicibacter ; Clostridiales ; Coprococcus ; Ruminococcus ; and two unknown genera of Ruminococcaceae family [ 58 ].
