United States data from the National Health Interview Survey reported that 59.8% of adults slept 7–8 h/night and 32.9% slept ≤6 h/night in 2017, and an increasing trend toward inadequate sleep duration was observed between 2013 and 2017 (Sheenan et al., 2019 ).
