Posthoc analysis showed that compared to control treatment, pain caused a significant reduction in the compensation rate at the 80:20 condition [ t (33) = −3.228, adjusted P = .009, Cohen’s d = 0.412] and the 100:0 condition [ t (33) = 3.554, adjusted P = .003, Cohen’s d = 0.501], and a marginally significant reduction at the 90:10 condition [ t (33) = 2.553, adjusted P = .070, Cohen’s d = .449].
