In the main effect Cox models adjusting for age and baseline CAD risk factors as potential confounders, hypertension was a highly significant risk factor for CAD incidence in the Japanese-ancestry cohort and the Kuakini HHP cohort, but not in the Okinawan-ancestry cohort, possibly due to the small sample size.
