Discussion The main findings were as follows: (1) there was a positive trend in excess weight over the 10-year study period among adolescents of both sexes, (2) boys from the 2017/2018 sample who spent more than 4 h a day on screen-based activities, and with inadequate cardiorespiratory fitness had a higher likelihood of having excess weight compared with boys from the 2007 sample, (3) adolescents of both sexes with inadequate muscle strength had greater chances of having excess weight in 2017/2018 than in 2007, and (4) adolescents with adequate cardiorespiratory fitness had lower chances of having excess weight in 2017/2018 than in 2007.
