A multivariate analysis through linear mixed model, including the significant variables associated with cIMT increase and the covariates of interest (age, sex, INSTI-containing ART, cIMT at baseline, presence of two or more cardiovascular risk factors at baseline, and the values at each visit of systolic blood pressure, BMI, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, CD4 T cell percentage, hsCRP, sCD14 and D-dimer), showed that HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and D-dimer were independent factors associated with cIMT increase, and sex and cIMT at baseline were close to significance.
