Different additives used in the synthesis of the films might have caused the films to have varying degrees of porosity and a distribution of constituents, both of which might contribute to the variation in apparent density. The magnitudes of thickness in the composite materials synthesized in the present investigation demonstrated an increasing trend as the CNC contents were elevated, indicating that the combination of chitosan and gelatin might have stabilized the nanocellulose and significantly boosted the properties and standard qualities of the resulting composite film materials.
